To keep track of where I’ve played I decided to get myself a website. I named it 1 Mile Golf because of a little project I started.
Golf and travel are always a good combination. If you add good food/drinks and a bit of touristic stuff, it’s a great vacation.
Who doesn’t like great vacations!
The Project is very simple. To play all golf courses within 1 mile off the coastline around Europe, islands included. Not sure how many courses there are but I’m guessing thousands..
A long term project in other words. It’s about the journey, not the destination!
If You happen to be a member on any of those courses and would like to have company for a round or two please let me know via Contact.

On the map below You can see ALL the courses I’ve played not only the coastal courses. I’ve played 1091 courses so far.
According to The Links Association there are only 247 true links in the world.
If I do The Project I will have done 225 of them. Only 22 outside of Europe left to play which is very doable.
That’s why I’ll add the 247 true links on the to do list.
If I only play the coastal courses I’ll play a lot of great courses but I will miss out on some truly magnificent courses like Gleneagles, Wentworth, Loch Lomond, Winston, Morfontaine, Royal Bled just to mention a few…
To play the Top 10 courses in each country in Europe should be possible. However if the country have less than 150 courses I’ll settle with the Top 5.
Top 100 in the World sounds like fun too! That will be my side project since I travel a lot outside of Europe as well.
Ranking lists always change so I’ll use the one which is current when I’m there.
So far I’ve managed 23 of the Top 100.
